Grant Recipient Announcement
On April 26th, our class decided to grant the funding to Young Playwrights' Theater and to Latino Student Fund. YPF will use this funding to implement a class residency at Eastern Senior High School. Playwriting allows students to expand their literacy and language skills, and empowers their confidence and creativity. Latino Student Fund works with families in the community to address educational disparity by promoting higher education and professional leadership. The funding awarded to LSF will support general operating costs.
On May 1st, our class announced the decision at the Honey Nashman Service-Learning Symposium at George Washington University. See below for pictures of our presentation and for pictures with the awardees.
